Our founder, Angela Cabrera, APRN, CPNP-PC, began her journey as a pediatric nurse practitioner in a grant funded child protection clinic with the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Over the last 19 years, she has continued working with children in the foster care system and children with developmental needs in primary care and hospital settings. Through this journey, Angela witnessed the need for more time, support, and education for children and foster families and children with developmental needs in their medical home.
In 2020, the vision of a Restorative Care Medical Home
was born, where every child who had experienced child abuse and neglect would receive comprehensive care from a trauma informed perspective. Her practice continues to expand to include caring for the ongoing needs of children who have been adopted and children with developmental needs.
